Community Development Finance Association (cdfa)
The cdfa is the trade association for Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs) in the UK. CDFIs are sustainable, independent financial institutions that provide capital and support to enable individuals or organisations to develop and create wealth in disadvantaged communities or under-served markets. MWB has developed the 'Accounting for MF' course with the cdfa to improve financial reporting in CDFIs and MFIs internationally.

Connecting lawyers to provide access to justice for the developing world

A4ID facilitates free legal assistance to civil society, developing country governments, social enterprise and bar associations to help achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) A4ID projects with MWB include
  • analysis of legal needs for MFIs in consultation with IDLO
  • research into Management Information Systems
  • training for loan agreements
  • regulatory issues for Mobile Banking

    Triple Jump
    Triple Jump Fund Management's (TJFM) mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of emerging economies by facilitating investment in micro and small enterprises. TJFM manages Oxfam Novib's microfinance portfolio in close cooperation with Oxfam Novib (Oxfam Netherlands). This fund provides (mainly local currency) loans to emerging MFIs, many of whom received grant funding from Oxfam Novib in the past. TJFM's team of MF experts work in partnership with MWB to provide material for case studies and MF methodology and advice on placements.

    Just Share
    JustShare, a coalition of churches and development agencies, campaigns for a just share of the world's resources for all. From its base at St Mary-le-Bow church in the City of London, JustShare is coordinating a project for MF in Mozambique and other African countries, working with the three UK MF charities (Opportunity International, Five Talents and Microloan Foundation) and Microfinance without Borders. JustShare draws its vision and values from the Christian faith but is open to people of all faiths and none who are committed to working together for a better world.
